David Phelps, President & CEO – David has served as President & CEO of CreoSalus since 2002. For more than 25 years, his career has included significant management roles with large life science (medical device, drug and biotech) companies, as well as starting life science firms and serving on the scientific advisory boards of a number of medical device firms. After founding MedVenture Technology Corporation (an INC. 500 company), David served as its President & CEO from its inception in 1988 through 2001. An Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award recipient, David has co-founded other medical device firms including CorNovus, InfraReDx and NexGenics. He has over 40 patents issued or pending and has successfully developed more than fifty life science products. David previously held manufacturing and product development positions at Boston Scientific Corporation and Baxter Healthcare. He is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology and Harvard Business School.
Barry Simon, DVM, President of ThornBioScience – Prior to co-founding Thorn BioScience in 1998, Barry’s career included private veterinary practice and several management positions, including General Manager of Coolmore America (Ashford Stud and Creekview Farm). His affiliations include AVMA, AAEP, Controlled Release Society, CSU Orthopedic Research Advisory Board, Thoroughbred Club of America and the Keeneland Association. Barry holds a BA in Zoology from Northern Colorado University and a DVM from Colorado State University.
James Geisler, Director – Jim’s experience includes finance and business development at United Technologies Corporation, a Dow Jones 30 company with over $50 billion in revenues. He served as co-CFO with responsibilities for treasury, financial planning, mergers and acquisitions, and investor relations. Institutional Investor magazine twice named Jim one of the top three CFOs in his industry. Jim is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and Darden at the University of Virginia.

Barry Simon, DVM
Tom G. Schalk, DVM – during his 30 year career at Upjohn, Tom held a variety of senior management positions and helped build the company’s Animal Health Business. He has served as a director, officer or advisor to National Cattlemen’s and Swine Association, AVMA, Industrial Veterinarians, Cobb Poultry Company, Animal Health Institute, European Animal Health organization, European and US Animal Trade Associations. He holds a DVM from Iowa State attended the executive program at Harvard Business School.

James Lauderdale, PhD – Throughout his 30 years at Upjohn, Jim held a number of senior research positions, including Research Director in Animal Health. His prostaglandin F2a research led to worldwide approval for its use as a luteolytic agent. He has received a number of awards including the W.E. Upjohn Award, American Society of Animal Science Physiology and Endocrinology, Upjohn Achievement Award. Jim holds a BS degree from Auburn and, from the University of Wisconsin, MS and PhD degrees in Endocrinology and Physiology of Reproduction.
Lois Rosenberger, PhD – Lois is currently Vice President of Global Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance at Kendle. She has authored dozens of abstracts in physiology and pharmacology. Lois holds a PhD in Biochemical Pharmacology from SUNY.
